Enter year 2012 in something grown up and simple but simple needn't be boring, coloured jeans are slowly breaking into the men’s scene and the deep purple trousers and grey wool combo from Acne is spot on for A/W. Stand out from the crowd with colour accents, keep everything else muted but not boring, team with high shine shoes to make it just that litte more interesting. Experiment with this season’s turtle neck, instantly classy and elegant (a word not only resevered for the ladies). But if things are moving a little too fast for some of you out there, try a polka dot print shirt in the same shade or alternatively, bright gloves will do the same job and you can spice up the blazer with a bright pocket square - not to mention striped socks, for those with a sense of humour.

I have way too many t-shirts then I care to admit, and I can't seem to stop buying more! I think I am subconsciously trying to own a t-shirt for everyday of the year! Which just shows how much us fellas rely on this two pieces of cotton fabric stitched together, and they're becoming more popular as of late. It's seemingly out-selling other departments in the current recession, where outerwear and accessories are performing poor, the front print tee has seen a significant improvement in sales. Maybe it just means we're finding cheaper ways to update our wardrobe, it's easy to wear not to mention flexible but comfort is paramount for me. I can literally wear my favourite t-shirt downtown AND uptown but still look good and feel like myself, how times have changed. So I have scoured the web to find the best (in my opinion) just to make it just that little bit easier for you...and this is just about personal taste, but this is where you can express your personality so what does your t-shirt say about you?

These exquisitely ornate rings by Marco Baroni are truly worthy of the most coveted post, I am a big fan of dangerous looking rings (Dominic Jones) or with macabre details; so the more interesting the better, some might argue it's too much like costume jewellery but I just love the drama it brings when worn with a minimal look. I especially like the contrast between the bright sapphire gold against the black iron, but it's the precious stones really add a new dimension and looks expensive (and it's not cheap too!). The medieval influence in the design is unusual, I'd wear two or three at a time beautifully demonstrated by Tommy Ton's streetstyle snap. This relatively small brand is slowly climbing up the destination shop rankings for affordable cutting edge fashion, having heard a lot buzz around this label from it's female counterparts has prompt me to seek out their mens collection, and boy it didn't disappoint. I was excited to see updated staples that were clean but modern, and easy to wear and in the colour palette I love most, black, white and red (for the festive season) but most importantly some of the products looked new, something that the current highstreet has been lacking as of late. The new-in pieces are totally me and will fit into what I wear everyday seamlessly. Here are my favourite looks from the collection, I'm saving the pennies now to buy the quilted amphibian jacket and voodoo print vest, hopefully just in time for Christmas. Also open to any donations for reals.

Get it while there's still sizes left...

Nothing shows people you mean business like a trench coat, especially when it’s tailored to perfection; Roland Mouret’s suede panelled trench is THE coat to kick start your ‘grown up swagger’ this season, it’s perfectly streamlined and clean unlike other classic styles and I actually prefer the no buttons approach. The look is minimal but modern and says to me you’re in charge and obviously have good taste too. There are times when you inevitably need to get the original and I would gladly splurge on a piece of item if I'll never find it again, and then there are times when you are on a budget and it's just not about being foolish is it now? So case in point are these bad boy oxford shoes from Dries Van Noten with the exaggerated lug sole (black versions available too but couldn't find the image) and Zara's mountain boot version, both are key footwear styles for this fall and I can't decide which I like more...These sturdy work boots go best with vintage denim and chunky knitwear, don't forget to roll up the hem to show them off.

Uniqlo have fallen slightly off my radar as of lately but during a recent impromptu visit into the store and online have dispelled all doubts once you see what bargains there are to be had! The thing I love about Uniqlo is it's no fuss approach, everything is neutral with no scary details or garish colours but rather minimal, clean and classically simple - something I've notice myself gravitate towards this year and it's a good reflection on the current mood of things regarding menswear.

This outfit is more workwear than what you wear to the office, and the kind of office enviroment I’m referring to is probably one from a creative industry, media or PR and somewhere you can get away with a red beanie! Nonetheless, it’s casual without looking sloppy and the heavy duty coat sets a sharp tone with it’s structural sihoulette and rich texutre - perfect for the windy days as Autmn finally sets in. Whether your a man about town in and out of meetings or running errands, house all your paper work in a retro briefcase from Zara then finish off with this season’s key wedge brogues for a workwear inspired look that’s effortlessly on trend for fall.

The talented Mr Gosling is fast becoming everybit of the Hollywood's new hearthrob, the "Blue Valentine" actor has been around for a while but has only attracted the much over due attention for his latest role in "Drive", an iconic film in the making that is turning the right heads.

Whilst making the rounds promoting movies, more and more pictures are surfacing on the web showcasing his many sartorial victories, my favourite are the off duty shots but here is someone that can do both very well - without a stylist seemingly, and I like that because you can tell it's all him and it's about owning what you wear. He is single handedly changing the game when it comes to dressing for movie premières, if I have to see another obligatory black tux on the red carpet I just might fall asleep from boredom, Ryan Gosling's choices are pleasantly unexpected, refreshing to see and current. My personal favourites are the blue tuxedo with satin lapel, how could you not take notice? Or the retro brown suit with penny loafers and retro shades, genius! He joins the new wave of young Holloywood that are 'bringing' it, like when Robert Pattinson broke the mould wearing a burgundy Gucci suit to the Twilight première - gone are the days when all you can see are a sea of penguins on the red carpet, Gosling is asking you to step up your game!

BRANDS WE SALUTE: Zara

Looking at my bank statement for the previous month, I seem to be noticing a pattern...all I can see is Zara every other transaction, I need an intervention! Never in my life have I shopped like this and I'm not sure whether it has anything to do with growing up but my taste and style has evolved with it but one things for sure - ZARA is speaking to me! I find myself checking their new in this week section every Monday along with my ritual of blogs that I check list (yes, it is that serious) and I have to say it's the only place I can easily bag 4+ items in less than 20 minutes, and it's making me broke.com - they must be doing something right.

On the highstreet, ZARA is definitely leading with the fastest turn over of products, new lines are added each week that are both exciting and on trend. You can literally see a trend emerge on the runway and in about two weeks a similar version will have hit the stores and have you swiping your card quicker than you can say, "this in a size 7 please".

SUMMER HEAT?! - My weapons of choice are....

When it comes to dealing with the awful humidity in small spaces, which is usually the public transport I have a few tips to combat not only the heat, but all the 'lovely' simmering body odours that you may come into contact with...now maybe it's a personal preference for me, but if I know I am going to be in close proximity to someone, or infact ANYONE...I would make sure they'll only have nice things to say in the smell department, which is why I am sharing with you my personal weapons of choice to hopefully avoid bad experiences (to many to name), these will offer a pleasant experience for you AND whoever you're close to not only on public transport, I find that certain fragrances will alleviate heat rage, and it's always a good indication of good hygiene and personal taste - above all it's just sexy when someone smells good, period.

Before I start I do want to point out that writing about grooming products is NOT my bag, so be kind at my futile attempt to describe the 'scent', it'll pretty much be copied and pasted from somewhere, BUT I will try to be descriptive as possible and in the most simple way possible, here goes:

WHAT: Burberry Sport for Men, top notes: Ginger, Sea water and citruses
WHEN: Perfect for mornings, day time to afternoon. It's fresh, light and crisp and reminds me of when you crack open up a can of 7UP
WHO: Ideal for men about town, with active lifestyles and sports oriented - I use it all day long to make the fresh and clean feeling last.
WHERE: Get it at Cheapsmells.com for a fraction of it's retail price!

WHAT: Diesel Only the Brave (Captain America Edition), top notes: Leather, Lemon, Cedar and Amber
WHEN: A truly masculine smell, sweet and musky and lasts all day! As a marvel comic fan, I really don't need another excuse to own this cologne, the bottle rules!
WHO: Good for those who wear uniform all day, if you going to wear something all day long might is well make it smell good, 2 sprays around the neck is more than sufficient for the scent to last day to night - Value for money!
WHERE: Get it at Boots now.

WHAT: Yves Saint Laurent La Nuit De L’Homme, top notes: Bergamot, Cardamom and Cedar with Lavender and Vetiver
WHEN: One of the sexiest men's colognes out there, it's mysterious and lends itself to what I can only describe to be 'after hours', the packaging is an obvious indication to when it's seductive powers come alive (haha). I've had many many compliments about this one, it's a keeper!
WHO: Designed for close body contact, I'm picturing evenings with cool summer breezes, dates, dinner maybe? The sophisticated combination of hard and soft in the scent makes for the perfect compliment to a suit and crisp white shirt, for all your evening endeavours...
WHERE: Make a saving of £4:30 at Ebay.co.uk

WHAT: Hermes Terre D'hermes, top notes: Atlas Cedar, mixture of Grapefruit, Pepper, Roses and Gunflint
WHEN: One of my favourites, perfect for long warm evenings, it's delicious in summer and it's enticing in winter, the scent will transform when sprayed on skin, something about the heat from your body will activate the scent, irresistible to the opposite sex (apparently)!
WHO: A cologne for someone confident, strong and cultured, it's popularity is growing and this is prompting me to get mine before it finishes.

Of course, with all that has been said, do not rely on these to combat body odours, anti-perspirent and deodorant IS the correct product to do so, for this I strongly recommend SURE FOR MEN, it does exactly what it says on the tin, last 24 hours! Never fails, I swear by it, once in the morning and you're good to go...

THE STYLE KING.COM - MILAN 2012 REVIEW

The menswear shows in the fashion capital Milan have just finished with an eclectic mix of shows, with Olympic games in London next year it was inevitable that British designers were inspired by the games, Vivienne Westwood the original punk of British fashion showed a strong collection which was designed for dressing up, a mixture of sportswear and t-shirts bearing the Olympic torch and three piece suits and tuxedos which won't look out of place at the capitals smartest parties. Nicole Farhi was back in Milan showing a smart and innovative collection designed by Italian Massimo Nicosia previously of Pringle and Alessandro Dell Aqua. White tailoring and sportswear with a splash of yellow thrown into the mix brought a continental flavour to the menswear.

The British influences were also be spotted on the catwalks of Gucci where Frida Giannini showed a strong collection inspired by a Savile Row of the Sixties with classic, slim silhouettes and houndstooth and Prince of Wales checks whilst the Sixties rock and roll looks of Mick Jagger were on influence on Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen which is going from strength to strength with a collection of striped trousers, jackets and Chelsea boots straight from the King's Road of the Swinging Sixties.

The Teddy boy theme was very much in evident at Costumme National, Moschino and McQ with their mix of drainpipe trousers, draped jackets, brothel creepers and models sporting quiffs who relaunched the new McQ by Alexander Mcqueen collection after a couple of seasons away.

The Italians seem to be genetically programmed to be more stylish than anybody else and next summer with the chic collections of Roberto Cavalli, Canali and Dolce & Gabbana all showingwhy Italians do it better. With an all White theme reoccurring throughout various shows the message seems to be that white 'is' the colour for next summer.

Prints continue to reign over the shows with vivid kaleidoscopic patterns; With Burberry Prorsum's graphic ikat prints and Etro's hypnotising paisley surplus, next summer is also all about being 'noticed'. Looks like the ethnic inspired textiles are here to stay.

To begin this particular blog post I will share with you the following insightful and uplifting words: life is full of disappointing relationships

Relationships end, friends drift apart, family members move and dogs run away. Such are the facts of life.

Inspiring words, weren’t they?

Now that you’re just about ready to fling yourself off the roof, I’m going to bring you back from that dark abyss of depression that I had you glimpse there, because there is one relationship that does last: the bond between you and your favorite denim.

Yes, I realize how superficial that just sounded. Equating human connections with a pair of pants? Am I just that that materialistic?

No I am not, I say.

Like a family heirloom, your most beloved pair of jeans has a history. They were with you on your first date with your future spouse, at your first college party (where you disrespected your favorite denim by nearly throwing up on them, but it’s okay, they forgave you), on your road trip with your friends and at your most memorable concert. Your favorite jeans travel, and no, not in the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants” kind of way. Your clothes become your companions through life. When people come and go they remain either firmly adorning your body or sitting in your closet, waiting for you to choose them again.

If jeans are capable of being lifelong friends, don’t settle for anything but the best. You wouldn’t choose a best friend who routinely makes you feel uncomfortable in social situations, so why would the same be acceptable for your jeans?

Premium denim lines like Rock Revival and William Rast know what it means to feel a connection to your denim. PLAYTIME BAR

Islington is not quite top of the list when selecting a London borough to spend you evening in, unless you live there of course, but since Playtime opened it's aesthetically pleasing doors, creative types have been flocking there to let their hair down and shake themselves loose.

Situated on the edge of Islington Green this unique bar has formed a hybrid of a performance space, art installation and bar - using all three purposes to their most exquisite extent. The interior is altered every four months to match the exhibiting artists installation, transforming the bar into a fully submersive gallery, but with AMAZING music.

There is a 'no dance music' rule which all guest dj's must abide to, which means you will be jostling around to anything from film soundtracks, 60's psych or reggae, and in fact, dancing more than dance music allows you to.

If anyone were to mention the name 'Justin Timerlake' it begs the question, "Where'd he go?" You don't just released a hit album and bugger off without a sound...enquiring minds need to know? Eventhough he's slowly returning to the music scene I can't help but wonder what he's been up to all this time - my guess is his been working on his clothing line William Rast, a California-based fashion line he founded along with his best friend Trace Ayala back in 2005. The name of the brand came from combining the names of Timberlake and Ayala’s grandfathers “William” and “Rast.” The brand takes high pride of denim’s American heritage by milling and dying their denim in the U.S, you can expect a lot of biker and western influences.

The success of the brand is owed to a genuine passion for what he does, combing the creativity of two best friends can only result in an authentic collection - it's modern, edgy and cool - like Americana, but remixed. It's no wonder the inspiration and the name of the latest collection is called 'New America'. “We had this idea of discoverers...and what does the modern day discoverer look like?” JT told in an interview.

Whatever he's doing, we like it! It seems like we're not the only ones - William Rast can now be found in many major high end department store such as Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Nordstroms as well as boutiques.

The classic American road trip is the inspiration behind 'New America' and features many popular trends (western, military, denim) from the previous season that has been carried over into S/S. At a glance, the collection is very wearable and agrees with most of the male population who want and expect a no fuss, easy and relaxed approach to looking great. This of course might bore some of you who are looking for a little more kick from a 'celebrity' clothing line, in true western-cowboy style the collection will introduce 'fringing' to the sleeves of leather jackets. A bold step for an American brand but a welcomed one for menswear, I too am anticipating this trend to pick up soon enough.

The most sought after pieces of the collection are the leather jackets and classic dark denim jeans with the signature embroidered slashed 'V' on the back pockets. William Rast will no doubt have a promising future in menswear, the line doesn't try to fix what's not broken, but rather just updating it and bringing it up to speed with 2010. Now that the weather in London is finally edging its way into season and into our wardrobes, grey is the perfect colour to lift your wardrobe and break away from dark hues to a fresher spring tone. This cooler shade will carry your style with ease from the hot mornings to humid nights.

Often overlooked and associated with everything boring and mundane, grey somehow redeems itself in summer as the perfect way to inject a fresher, cooler attitude into your wardrobe for the bright summer. Grey shades have also appeared on many S/S 2010 runway; Prada’s S/S 2010 collection demonstrated grey suits need not look stale and tired, but rather placid and commanding. Emporio Armani gave us a masterclass in relaxed sophistication and the art of tailored shorts in their S/S 2010 collection, proving that grey is also a colour that you can make style statement with: the archetypal man about town look thrust into 2010. Perhaps the greatest influx of the colour was seen on the YSL & Calvin Klein runway: the models marched down the runway in an array of grey tones that radiated authority and confidence. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the YSL collection was the trousers: high waisted, billowing, wide leg cuts were brought to life by the shades of grey that swam in and out of the light giving the clothes a sense of vitality not usually seen in the colour. Whilst Calvin Klein's minimal and futuristic approach resembled model androids from the distant future, it's clean, polished and sharp. Working grey tones into your summer wardrobe will make you look like an oasis of cool calm amongst the summer heat.

The sale week is upon us, and there's some serious BARGAINS to be had if your strong willed. I was reading ELLE's highstreet edit two issues back and they offered tips on how to shop on the highstreet, very useful & informative and some of them can definitely apply to this post. The ones that really stuck out are:

1. WRITE A WISHLIST
'Hit up blogs, look at magazines and have an idea what it is you want to buy, this will allow you to focus on what you want and hone in on it rather than trolling through everything.'

2. STAY HANDS FREE
'Just leave the house with your housekeys, wallet and maybe your mobile phone, your on a mission and you need to have both hands free. No faffing about with bags etc, leave it at home'

3. BE INTREPID
'Shopping outside your comfort zone will stop you from buying the same thing, it is the sale so now is the best time to experiment with things you normally wouldn't, AND without the hefty price tag.'

4. SIZE IT UP
'For god's sake, if it doesn't fit, don't buy it! it won't magically shrink to size when you take it home, or stretch. Unless you want to add a little edge to your look by oversizing things, that's when it should be ignore the above.'

5. BE DECISIVE
'Edit edit edit, you have to think on your feet. Whatever you pick up should be mentally filtered through a check list, if it passes all than you should buy, chances are it'll be gone by the time you come back'

6. STICK TO YOUR BUDGET
'Give yourself a budget, and take out extra cash if you need to - this will prevent the, "what was I thinking" when you get home, NEVER regret it'

At last, finally the weather in London seems to be catching up with Spring! and although we're closing in on April I still am not able to accept the fact that I have to wear my winter jacket to work most days - but the hotly anticipated summer has sparked my imagination on the looks I can't wait to rock; Philip Lim's SS10 collection has hit the nail on the head for me personally, it's relaxed but still sophisticated and strikes the right balance between casual and smart.

The day look is so effortless and easy to put together, sweaters from Uniqlo are good quality and very affordable, and the tailored shorts from Topman are your wear with anything essential for this summer. I don't quite agree with wearing socks and shorts so I personally would go for the woven leather loafers, the woven detail is much more interesting and lets your feet breathe. I like how the evening look is still casual but the black will make it appropriate for night. River Island are now doing slouch wide neck t-shirts in a wide variety of shades that perfect to layer under a blazer or to go with a pair of pleated turn up trousers (Allsaints). I'm coming around to the idea of cut-out shoes, and I do appreciate that these will keep me cool, but if that's not for you a pair of simple black loafers will work just as well. To top it all off, add a long pendant necklace to make it a little more interesting than the day look - I remain optimistic about the warmer weather, fingers crossed ay...

TOPMAN'S (Re)OPENING

So I guess you've also heard about TOPMAN's ambitious expansion, a whole new floor, plus more more more!? You know I had to check it out, and all the excitement is true - The original men's floor remains the same, allocated denim/jeans area, smarts, basics, changing room..etc at first i thought it was quite because it didn't usually have as many people as it should around after work hours..BUT a stairway has opened up..(oooh) as you walk up the orange illuminated stairs, a lot has gone into creating excitement for the new floor, neon frame pictures, plasma screens all greet you on the way up..smiles already..

At the top of the stairs, i remembered uttering, "It's MA-HOO-SIVE" My eyes went straight for the footwear section, which seemingly has expanded by three folds! Which now stock other brands and recognised concessions (Including clothing+accessories) like:

There is sooo much to look at, I didn't know where to begin! I was overwhelmed by envy and depression whilist looking around at people relishing in their recent purchases, as i tried to calm myself down, by saying "my time will come" I just couldn't help but be so proud of Topman leading the way for us guys, this re-opening is a reassurance that menswear is growing itself out of recession!, never has an high-street store reacted with such confidence, the new floor can now compete with the feamale counter parts, guys are now definitely WORTH IT TOO (you see what i'e done there?).

Topman now stock extra special collections from MAN, Christopher Shannon, La Coste, and a whole bunch of young designers like Carolyn Massey thrown in the mix that will just open up the London's accessibility to designer pieces at reasonable prices, I am overly impressed and feel very much part of this exclusive movement. This will provide the new upcoming designers an amazing platform to gain exposure, and for the customer to grow with the brand and establish a following with the different designers. The future customer will be so much more shop savvy and brand conscious. I love that it has still kept the funky, electic spirit that is so exciting about London's young and stylish. I couldn't contain myself, I've mentally marked over 20+ items I want to purchase by the end of this month!( good luck with that).

Before I continue, you'll have to excuse my poor quality pictures, i was caught trying to take pics with the digi cam but i wasn't about to give up, so camera fone will suffice! There was one consistent piece i noticed throughout store, and it was how strong the knitwear was? (click on the picture to enlarge) It was one of the main things that jumped out, it had colour, it had print, it had texture it was interesting, retro and looked expensive. I didn't have time to take pictures of every piece, but it's clear the choices are just astounding! I pulled out a few of my favourite pieces from different collections, it had my mind racing with all the ideas for future issues.

GENUINE ARTICLE VINTAGE TWEED BLAZERS £25!

After a manic week, there really isn't a better way to spend your sunday then to sleep in late..then take yourself down to bricklane...and be in the thick of the buzzing markets, people from all walks of life...and after you've worked up an appetite from the walking, hit the international food market to culture yourself from cuisine from all around the world..it really is the essence of eastend london...and you can do it all under £30!

Which bring me to the clothes..i was on a hunt for a tweed blazer, and although the highstreet have a good selection, it's still a tad pricey - even more so when you can get a genuine article full of character (and smell), for only £25! Tartan, country heritage, dogtooth, herringbone..all the same price..i must admit, i had to fight for the one i wanted - but all worth it i assure you.

So food, £3, bargain navy & black totally lush tweed blazer £25 from ROKIT = £28! Cheapest day out yet. I would of been over budget if i wasn't still recovering from the alchol overdose over the weekend.

Thats it - am on a mission to see what i can get with the remaining £2.

The last of the sun has drifted away quickly along with this year's last bank holiday - where the sky is a depressing pencil lead grey for most of the day...the time to walk out the house without a jacket will also be a distant past very soon...but if there's anything to look foward to, its the party season! And if you must wear a jacket, let it be a darn nice one!

Zara's A/W collection is in full swing and you can your hands on some amazing coats as of now, like this navy military jacket (a massive trend for autumn) with red velvet trim, brass buttons and amazingly detail - at £99 which isn't bad at all. Or gear up to the party season in this expensive looking velvet blazer (also a big trend) , which has satin trim and quited lapel - team with bowtie, loafers and fitted jeans a la D&G; also £99.

All in all, Zara is doing it for me at the moment for designer looks at reasonable highstreet price. They always respond quick to trends and have a subtle sophistication to their all their products, the only real question is why they haven't moved their store online!

Leather jackets & bombers that are soft as butter and always have interesting details; subtle pleats and darts on shoulders, plus it looks well made, I have one that's still getting milage after 2 seasons. Priced from £80 - £150. I got mine...

Words that are as true today as when the Victorian humorist first uttered them. Then how ironic it would be that we may all soon be wearing clothes much like those adorned by Twain himself. Victorian styling is suspected to be a massive trend in menswear next season, the influences being seen in tailoring in the form of three piece suits, cutaway jackets and certain outerwear styles as well as in relaxed casuals in the form of work wear harking back to the industrial revolution. Accessories will be include bowler hats, baker boy caps, pocket watches and even men’s furs to name but a few. Being quite the aficionado of the Victorian aesthetic I for one can’t wait.

Man-Slap (Slap= British slang term for make-up)

For an industry that boasts £700m, it definitely isn't something that just happens overnight. The modern man at least has a facial wash and a good moisturiser. But it doesn't have to stop there, and that's what i think contributes to the growing industry! Men's grooming regime are much more intense now, and younger guys are getting more adventurous and it's because there's so much available to us now, the key is right marketing and packaging.

Jean Paul Gaultier is spear-heading us into the new era, with it's first men's make-up range appropriately titled, "Monsiuer". That gives men the tool to "enchance" what they've already got! The line includes facial cleanser, toner, shaving products, concealer, eyeliner, brow grooming gel, and bronzer. But it's since come along way from the designer brands, these "adventurous" products are filtering down to local stores, making it very accessible to the younger generation. UK's Superdrug is launching it's first men's make-up range this September, "Taxi Man" cleverly packages the eyeliner and mascara into "Guyliner" and "Manscara" to let men feel like they own it more. Priced at around £5-7, it's not bad either.

"So far, the main focus of the make-up industry has been correction: to make men look better but natural. But there are signs that an attempt at decoration is now emerging, and the key for cosmetics brands is to find a way through the conundrum of creating 'non-girly' make-up for real men." - Carl Wilkinson - The Guardian/ Observer

But why stop there, there's now a plethera of products designed to target all the problems a man has, but renamed and packaged into a non-intimidating, "i'm a man who wear's make-up" proof way. This includes, shine reduction powder, confidence corrector, contour powder, eye shader, sunburn/ blush powder - all of which are tempting me with the potential of looking better than i am now. It's worth a shot? right?

Either way, it's not a new thing if you do, just go easy on the panda eyes. haha.

I know it's only august, but i like to plan that far ahead! This year, for me it's the birth of the "statement" jacket, that does the talking; whilst everything shuts up! Look out for the "old british battle of bordertown" military style jackets, suede, and cow-boyesque styles with buckles. That's why I love winter...colder weather = more clothes = more layers = more expression.

I have my beedy green eyes on the Gucci, brown leather jacket, it's quirky and i just love the details and all things studded, it looks amazing on the ad campaign, i feel a men's version of boho/country trend on the horizon! One to watch!

You'll need one statement jacket for winter this month! Something that will keep you warm and still packs a punch, so don't worry about wearing anything jazzy underneath, if your anything like me in the cold, you'll want to keep it on. Just remember to pimp it out with gloves and a overwhelming "being attacked by a python" scarf.

Blue, the new black!

Blue is the new black! there you have it! a statement! but will revert back to black just as quickly..fashion is just so fickle...but i'm more interested in the timeless appeal, and it's more navy to be exact.

Recently, I've been seeing some very well dressed guys on the train, and at a glance you just get the impression that there's something very elegant and classy to how this person is carrying himself. There's a air of confidence and sophistication, but very understated, nothing about him was over the top. This is a guy that knows what works for him, and it will continue to work for him for a long time, why? because it's timeless - classic staple pieces that just stands the test of time. This got me curious, i had to break down his outfit to really know why.

Had to look at colour first, it was the navy that held everything together; there's something about how "navy" comes alive against certain colours or differed shades of blue. It's very close to black, but it's not hard, it just neutralises and lets something else do the talking.

He wore a navy striped shirt, under a navy cardigan (a very important piece for everyman right now) with smart navy chinos coupled with a camel mac, tan brown brogue shoes. He nailed it with the accessories, a classic leather strap watch and a tan tote - exutes elegance and sophistication, maximum impact without making too much noise. A very clever outfit, takes alot of time to hone and carry off.

Here's a little example of what i mean...

Now it's your turn. All of these garments are "classic staples" and will not go out of style very easily. So i see it as an investment, and money well spent.

All eyes on - "All Saints"

Really like ALL SAINTS at the mo, they're doing it, doing it well! Here is my Best of....

So i usually do my "Sale" rounds, considering i have an unorthodox method of bargain hunting - when i got into a store, the first instincts i have when i'm looking around is, to have a good old poke through the areas which look boring or have nothing interesting, as oppose to the areas where EVERYONE is (too much) and almost everytime i will find something amazing that i can't stop telling people about! i swear! It's probably because the employees want to keep stuff for themselves, so they have to hide it somewhere no one will look in..hehehe...not from me!

Now I do love abit of all saints, they pride themselves in having cutting edge fashion for Men and women, there's attitude and it's very rough around the edges, you'll never see neon pink or overly bright accessories up in there and it's nice to know that they'll be consistent. The general colour palette are deep muted colours; greys, charcoal, deep olive, browns, beige, camel navy etc..you get the idea. Really easy to add to your current wardrobe and dress around, if your a smart shopper, you'll be able to find strong key pieces every season that you can update your wardrobe with with ease, it might be a little pricey, but i love all the little details All Saints have, new take on classic things, quirky twists - That's what i'm paying for. If you look at their ad campaign and how they wear certain things, you'll see it's all about how you wear it!

Speaking of which, i also shop in the ladies section. The "Suez" trousers that i have in (Camel, charcoal and grey check) are now £24 in sale, and NO ONE knew they were womens, and i've been getting a fair share of "jealous" but nice comments hehe. It's all in the mind, just cos it's in the womens section don't mean it's got to stay there! I've been lying to everyone telling them it's vivienne westwood, if you can you should!

Stepping up...and about time too!

Very exciting news indeed, and i do love a bit of highstreet, duh!! but "one" of my favorite one stop shops are h&m are taking menswear to the next level (oooooh, really!) a little bird told me that h&m are planning to offer us their most fashion-forward collection by far. With this capsule collection, available from September promises to deliver exiciting trends at affordable prices.

“This is a very exciting concept with a much higher fashion level,” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, H&M’s head of design. “Men have become more into fashion and more daring when it comes to details and silhouettes which is great to see” - hm.com

And true to form too, i was hitting the sales at selfridges the other day and man.."no pun intended" I've never seen so many guys shop in my life, and by themselves too. No longer are they chaparoned by their significant other half, the brothers and doing it for themselves now. This just tells me that guys know what they want now and how they want to be presented, and understand themselves more. But just generally more confident at trying daring trends! Guys are more sophisticated now, and pay alot more attention to how other guys are dressed, on the street, TV, media, and know where to get what they want. They are buying more into the lifestyle that highstreet brands are offering - they want to be part of the story.

So you can understand my excitment, from the previous posts about a/w trends! I can expect to rock the anticipated trends without denting my overdraft (oops, i meant wallet). Things to look out for:

Creature Comforts - WWIT's Favourite look at the moment

With summer slowly and painfully draining away, with the on-slaught of rain that never seems to stop, with the very annoying and slightly confusing intervals of sunshine, there's no wonder people like me just want to live easy. This also applied to what i'm wearing; i want it to be effort free, and look it too.

The most important thing is comfort! waffer thin knits and layering allows me to shed when it's hot, and add when it's chilly, nothing clingy or tight please! easy does it... Key words are: Sludgy colours, muted palette, dull shades, cosi, soft layering, textural contrasts, crumpled cotton shirts, soft tailoring, slouchy fits.

So ditch the skinny jeans and skinny this that the other (for now) and steady on with easy living, until the weather sorts itself out. Meanwhile, Burberry Porsum is the inspiration and they do it so well.

These are my Style Chart Top 20, although i think i might just stick to 10 next time, it took AGGGESS...haha..but i figure instead of doing highstreet & designer lowdown, this might be an easier and better way of doing it, try to use as much labels as i can, from highstreet, designer etc. I love it..i will be doing this every sunday, (hopefully) cos i know i've been really crap lately, been working soo hard and been too busy with graduate fashion week, which has given me alot of inspiration. So lots of exciting things coming....stay tuned!

"Unconditional" Patchwork Leather Biker Jacket - I love the shape, the high collar! I've featured this jacket before, but as you can see, it's the ultimate statement jacket! guaranteed to steal the show.
Vivienne Westwood Wide Trousers - I've had my eyes on these wide harlequin trousers for a while now, it's quirky and creates an interesting sihoulette, i would rock it..
Navy cotton blazer with light trim @ Topman - Very classic and simple with a modest twist, understated style, also the colour navy can be dressed up or down. It's something i will be wearing very very often, just because it's versatile.
Bib Front print t-shirt @ Urban Outfitters - Quirky details are eye catching, and says alot about someone's taste, it's fun and individual.
Dinner Jacket with satin lining @ Oli.co.uk - Priced at £45 isn't bad to start with, at all. The satin makes it very chic and luxurious, i love it.
Maison Martin Margiela Anchor necklace @ Eluxury.com - It's a sweet little pendant necklace, it's subtle, and not over the top. I also have a thing about anchors, so it's a winner for me.
Dior Homme Patent shoes - Love these patent shoes, it's a very classic shoe, but the patent finish makes it modern. This is something that can jazz up a simple tuxedo, injecting some personality.
Rick owens canvas and leather tote - Love the contrast, and it looks very lush and expensive. Great shape and good for work and weekend.
Raf by Raf Simmons graphic vest - Something a little more fun, it's on trend and eye catching.
Alexander Mcqueen printed hoodie - I also love loud prints, so this printed hoodie is my retro fix, worn with hightops, really thick gold jewellery and rock it how you want.
One button silver slim fit suit @ River Island - Something every guy should have, i love the one button, the fit, and detail, colour is very suitable for younger guys, it's sleek and stylish, perfect for any occasion.
"Seven" Silver Dagger, Shield And Skull Necklace @ Asos.com - Quirky and interesting. Abit of rock n roll with a hint of attitude.
Bibbed front waistcoat @ Topman - Very tasteful waistcoat with the satin bib detail, adds a interesting twist to other waistcoats.
Black Tee w/ Metallic gold snake print @ Topman - I love anything metallic, but this is the perfect amount, i love the snake print.
Cheap Monday skinny indigo jeans - Indigo jeans can be dressed smart or down, it's the beauty of it!
Rick Owens white high tops w/ black trim - I want these so bad, they're extra high, so it's going to give a nod to boxing shoes but still keeping it fresh and modern.
3.1 Phillip Lim cairo belt - quirky details, love the unique buckle clasp and woven leather effect.
Carhartt Hooded Mellow Tile Hoody @ Urban Outfitters
Minimum Walter Cotton Cardigan @ Urban - Floral shirts are set to be a trend heating up, ted baker tastefully does subtle floral prints, that remind me of prada. It's very grown up and chic.
